16 E Tona Sand and Bricks was founded by Mr Phillip Ledwaba in 2009 after realising there was a shortage of supply in the sand and bricks industry in Ga-rankuwa and surrounding areas.

He officially registered the entity in 2009.he currently owns and manages the business. Mr Phillip Ledwaba, who is an HDI, set up the business after realising that family housed in small RDP houses continuously require bricks to extend their houses over a period of time. The entity operates within the bricks and sand sector and services individual, the public and private sector.
